An Iconic modernist inspired high-rise in Cape Town’s downtown

FORESHORE PLACE was the first structure in Cape Town to use a continuous glass curtain wall and at the time, was the largest steel skeleton ever used in a skyscraper, defining its 34-storey main tower, which opened its doors in 1970.

The development

One of the most recognisable high-rise buildings on the Cape Town skyline launched 11 floors of beautifully designed Scandinavian and Mid-Century Modernist urban living spaces in May 2019. 171 Apartments featuring world-class amenities comprising studios, one and two bedrooms with harbour, mountain and city views, where residents will have 24/7 access to Cape Town’s Downtown.

The identity

Inspired by the distinctive architectural shapes in the façade of this iconic skyscraper. Selling a bold, edgy and cool lifestyle.

Design direction

This unique development required an equally unique brand expression. Vibrant colours were selected for Social Media impact and greater awareness in a congested and overpriced property market. The marketing focused on attracting younger, first-time buyers with an appetite to own property. It’s a trend that’s disrupting cities across the globe – the smaller, more affordable living space. It’s a modern apartment with all the luxuries buyers expect, in only 70% of the size.

The ultimate in iconic, urban cool. Foreshore Place is the only Residential Address in Downtown Cape Town to occupy a 1970’s high-rise.
